This is a masterpiece by one of the greatest writers of the past 100 years. Vonnegut never disappoints – unlike my fellow Club members, none of whom had read this book – and that continues with what is now our highest scoring book so far. It’s difficult to describe – semi-autobiographical and part science-fiction, often funny, terrifying and sad within the same page and ultimately a deeply profound work of art.
I’m ashamed to say that we have had this book on the shelf for many years and I had never got round to reading it. It is an outstanding book which I’ll definitely re-read.
