One Response to The Centaur – John Updike

  1. Mr Orange says:

A funny and sad book that manages to capture the fraught relationship between a disappointed father and his son. Casting the characters from Greek myths is a conceit that works . The main character views himself heroically as a centaur even though he leads a very ordinary, non-heroic life.
